I've been wanting to make something with these petals for years, but I usually end up missing the chance, with late May being a prime gardening/traveling/celebrating-spring-time-of-year. It is not the prettiest rose bush, but the red color is good for culinary uses, and it has fragrance. This recipe from Emiko Davies was just the thing. And I get to pretend I am living in Italy for a day.
