After five years, I guess I should have a better idea of just how much I harvest from the garden. It's a combination of having other priorities and not really wanting to know the effort-to-payoff ratio! I am not one to weight and count, but I will start tallying here in my usual informal way. So far this year, we've had a few lettuce and mache salads, and the spinach has completely taken off, providing enough for a quiche. Overwintering the greens gave me a good head start on spring, even with this particularly miserable winter. I think all of the mache sprouted on its own from seed that dropped last spring. The spinach transplants and those that I seeded myself in fall are doing equally well.
